Waltti is a travel card used in several cities in Finland, such as Hämeenlinna, Lahti, Jyväskylä, Oulu and Joensuu. You can load season and value tickets on the card.

The Waltti ticket allows you to travel within the boundaries of the city of Salo. Use the value ticked to also pay for your travel in other cities using the Waltti system. Waltti travel cards are not a valid means of payment in transport crossing the borders of municipalities (such as express services).

A value ticket can be loaded as either a personal or a multi-user ticket. You can load the desired amount of money to the value ticket, and take individual bus rides in Salo and other cities included in the Waltti system. The amount of money you have loaded on the value ticket will be used up as you use the card. You can also use the value card to pay for the journey of more than one people belonging to the same age group (1-31 people) if the card has the required value.

The season ticket can be used for unlimited travel in Salo’s local transport for 30 days. The season ticket is always personal.

You can use the same card template for a season ticket and a value ticket.

Buying a Waltti travel card is a good idea, because when you use it to pay for fares, the price of a bus ride will always be cheaper than the price of a single-fare ticket. For example, an adult’s single-fare ticket bought in cash costs EUR 3.30, while a bus ride paid with the value ticket costs EUR 3. The amount of travel is not limited if you use a season ticket, so the more you travel, the more money you will save. The price of a season ticket for an adult is 65 euros.

The first Waltti travel card is purchased and topped up at our public transport service point or Waltti online shop. Our public transport service point is at City Hall service point. You can later top up the card in the Waltti online shop and in buses.

The traveller’s personal information is stored in a personal card when the card is set up. The card can only be used by the person in whose name the card was purchased. A personal card can be cancelled if it goes missing. You can transfer any unused journeys on the card to a new card.

A multi-user card can be used by anyone who holds the card. The multi-user card is purchased based on an age group. Multi-user travel cards cannot be cancelled, and the unused journeys they contain cannot be transferred to another card.

Yes. Children aged between 7 and 15 can travel using a children’s ticket. Adult tickets are for those aged 16 or over. Children aged 0-6 who travel with an adult travel free of charge. Unaccompanied children aged under 7 must pay the price of a children’s ticket.

The right to change vehicles is valid for 2 hours from the start of the journey. If your return takes place within two hours of first validating the card or the time of purchasing a single-fare ticket, you can use the right to change vehicles for your return journey. However, you must always validate your card in the card reader in the bus when entering the vehicle.

Normal pets may be transported on a bus, providing that they are escorted and that the escort carries the responsibility for them. No fee is charged for pets.

The driver may refuse to allow a pet on a bus if the vehicle is very full, there are other pets on the bus or other passengers object to allowing the pet on the vehicle.

A police dog, a guide dog for a visually impaired passenger, a service dog for a person with reduced mobility or a dog being trained to become a service dog may be brought on a bus.

Passengers must be prepared that difficult road conditions or traffic jams may prolong the scheduled travel time. Passengers are asked to take into account that different schedules may be used during public holidays.

A disturbance in traffic, such as the absence of a specific bus service or an early or late arrival, does not entitle you to reimbursement of travel tickets or refunding of expenses caused by substitutive transport.

Carriers take care of lost property as required by the Lost property act and decree. Any travel cards found must be returned to the public transport service point. The owner of a personal travel card is informed of the place where the card was collected by the service point. Multi-user travel cards are delivered for disposal as their owner cannot be determined.

You may take your bike on a bus if there is enough room for it in the bus. There is no additional charge for transporting the bike.

You may not pay with your bank card on the bus. Payment methods approved for buses include Waltti travel cards, Waltti mobile ticket or cash. Adults can pay for their own travel with a contactless debit card or mobile device. It is not possible to pay with a bank card for the trip of other passengers or additional reloads of travel cards.
