Service transport in the city of Salo is available to all municipal residents and summer residents. The service is used to provide as many Salo residents as possible with access to the necessary services twice a week.
Service transport will pick up passengers from their homes if necessary and the driver assists them in all stages of the journey as needed. The vehicle also has room for the passengers’ special aids and shopping bags. Please note that there is a limited number of seats in the service transport and these will be filled in the order of registration.
Travel fare
The price of a one-way journey is EUR 4.00. Our war veterans and escort card holders travel free of charge.
Service time and destination
The service time may not exceed two hours, and it usually occurs between 10:00-13:00 o’clock. The time varies based on the number and need for services. When booking the transport service, the customer must notify of their destination (e.g. Kitula or Kivihovi/Prisma or the city centre). In the Salo city centre, passengers can depart the vehicle in the Plaza-Citymarket, swimming pool or Prisma, Halikko.
Booking the transport service
Customers must place an order for the services in the subscription service centre at the latest on the weekday before the day of using the service transport. Order number: +358 (0)2 778 7716.
The subscription service centre staff is available in the number on weekdays at 8–14. In other times, the call will be diverted to voicemail, where you can leave a contact request or notify that you want to cancel the service. Please remember to leave your number so we can call you back.
Service transport schedules
In service transport, there are two schedules in use: the summer and winter schedule.
The summer schedule is valid during the summer school holidays. Under the summer schedule, service transport will also operate on Mondays. Please note that a Monday trip must be booked by the Friday of the preceding week at the latest.
The winter schedule is valid during the school year. For this reason, the schedule changes midweek in August. During the week when the schedules change, the number of service days for service transport may differ from the usual.
